Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Why are you reviewing films? A: Why not? It's fun and we get to be opinionated whether you
like it or not
2. Can I review films and have you put them up? A: Maybe. Depends on if you're any good at it. Send us a sample at filmreviewstew@att.net and we'll see.
3. If I do review a film, will you pay me for it? A: Eh? Did you say something? I couldn't quite hear you. Speak up! (Easy answer = "No.")
4. There are plenty of pretty pictures but nothing that tells me about them? Why is that? A: Rest your cursor on an image and see what happens...
5. Why are there pictures of unknown actors/actresses on most of the pages? A: Does Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Keira Knightley, Nicole Kidman, etc. really need more exposure? We thought not. But those struggling artists? Why not let their faces shine somewhere as insignificant as our little review site.
6. I noticed a broken link. Why don't you fix it? A: Chances are we don't know about it. Send us an email at filmreviewstew@att.net and let us know. We might even send you a cookie. Or not...
7. Your site sucks. Why don't you do this or that? A: Send us your suggestions. We might actually not ignore you. Or not...
8. Will you review a film I made? A: Maybe (DVDs only). You can send it to us at The Film Review Stew, P.O. Box 6, Marina, California 93933. Don't expect a favorable review just because you sent us a freebie film. But if you include a cookie, well, we'll talk some more.
9. What is it with you guys and cookies?! A: Sugar keeps our eyes open so we can keep on reviewing films.
10. Are you published anywhere else besides your website? A: Not yet. But who knows what might happen in the future. We could be the next Siskel and Ebert. Or not...
11. Would you please quit saying "Or not...!"? A: Ok. We will. Or not...
12. Can you give me an opinion on a movie that I don't see on your site? A: Sure. Tell us which one. But beware. You may not like what we have to say.
13. I noticed that you're pretty hard on some independent films. How come? A: We believe that indie films should be held to a high standard. Yes, we know they struggle with budgetary constraints and low production standards. But we still believe it is possible to make a great indie film on a shoestring budget. Is that fair? Life's not fair. Deal with it.
14. Why not list Amazon.com as the place to buy the DVDs? A: Because Amazon.com doesn't need any help with its online sales, whereas other, struggling online retailers are. We thought we'd give those small guys a break.
